Anthony Phillips

Anthony is a chartered accountant holding English (ACA), South African (CA/SA) and Zimbabwean qualifications. He completed his training with Deloitte and Ernst & Young. Commercial experience includes holding international executive positions in finance and management within different sectors, including Information and Communication Technology (ICT), retail and consumer goods, manufacturing, publishing, capital goods and venture capital industries.

Anthony has worked in the profession, private and corporate sectors and brings to Exceed's Clients extensive financial and general management expertise (from start-ups to listed businesses) as well as proactive mentoring, CFO services and coaching to owner managed businesses.

Anthony’s broad experience spanning the profession, as well as the private and corporate sectors, enable him to provide, to Exceed’s Clients (ranging from start-ups to trusted businesses).

He is a director and shareholder in Exceed’s various business entities and is a trustee of Giveall2Charity.

Anthony is married and has two sons and two grandsons, his interests include travel and playing golf.

Andrew Loedolff

Andrew Loedolff

Andrew holds a Batchelor of Commerce degree together with a post-graduate degree in Marketing Management.

He has extensive operational experience, having run large organisations in both South Africa and Europe, predominantly in the Information and Communication Technology industry (ICT).

Having participated in a large European management buy-out and subsequent acquisitions of smaller entities, Andrew has accumulated experience of mergers & acquisitions and the structuring required at an organisational and personal level.

Andrew is married and has three children, his interests include playing golf and cycling.

Gerhard Visagie

Gerhard Visagie

Gerhard is a Chartered Accountant holding English (ACA) and South African (CA/SA) qualifications. He is also a Company Secretary and a Project Manager (Prince II Practitioner).

Gerhard is  “Big Four” (KPMG London and South Africa) trained,  with extensive commercial experience, including due diligence, group reporting, cost reduction, business development and business turnaround experience for a wide range of industries in an International environment.

Gerhard has also worked in industry as a Finance Director and therefore has both the professional accounting and practical industry experience needed to assist Exceed Clients in developing their businesses, systems and processes.

Gerhard assists Clients with financial and general management matters including, cash flow management, corporation tax, Information and Communication Technology requirements, cost assessments, financial reporting, project management and the day-to-day management of Procurement, HR and IT.  He also helps Clients with their strategic planning, refining their strategy for growth and with obtaining bank and investor finance.

Gerhard is married with one child.  His interests include property development, travelling and enjoying the great outdoors.

Theo Winckler

Theo Winckler

Theo obtained an Honours degree in Management Accounting in 1996 at the University of Stellenbosch.

He started his professional career with the South African listed group Remgro, after which he became a marketing manager at To-Infinity, a privately owned business, operating in the Information and Communication Technology sector. Theo joined Exceed in September 2002. He looks after our individual Clients requirements and is responsible for personal tax, year-end/management accounts and individual offshore structures.

Theo is married and has one child, his interests include, watching rugby, running the occasional half-marathon or fun-run and spending time with his family.

Gavin Loveday

Gavin Loveday

Gavin achieved a Mathematics degree from Loughborough University in 1994. He trained at a four partner firm, Giess Wallis Crisp, in Harlow where he qualified as an ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants). He moved to Surrey in 2004, where he worked for several accountancy firms in the Ascot area, before joining Exceed in April 2010. He has a varied background including, the preparation of year end accounts, monthly management accounts, personal, corporation and VAT tax returns.

Gavin is married, his interests include, playing rugby for Chobham RFC and also enjoys going to the theatre, music, travel and gardening.

Christina Vinci

Christina Vinci

Christina was educated at Salesian School in Surrey, completing her A levels in 2012. She joined Exceed as our first trainee under the ICAEW, studying for her ACA qualification whilst working within the firm. Christina is now ACA qualified after passing all her ACA examinations first time. Her specialisations include company secretarial, payroll, Auto Enrolment and QuickBooks online.

Christina lives with her boyfriend, her interests include baking and would love to go sky diving.

Joelene McDonald

After graduating with a BA (Hons) in Business Management from the University of Pretoria in 2001, Joelene began her career in marketing and spent the next 8 years within a number of commercial sectors including, banking, consultancy and telemarketing, both in South Africa and the UK.

Following her career in marketing, Joelene moved into finance and held various positions in this field, advising small to medium-sized businesses. This has helped her gain experience in various financial processes and systems.

Joelene’s interests include mastering the art of tennis.

Jenni Botha

Jenni Botha

Jenni joined Exceed in December 2014, she came to Exceed from SAB Miller where she worked within the Human Resources department. Jenni has a strong Information and Communication Technology background, she previously worked for Hyperion, Oracle and SAP in the Sales Operations departments.

Jenni is married with two daughters and one grandson. Her interests include watching rugby, golf and she enjoys spending time with friends and family.

Lorenzo Cipollone

Lorenzo Cipollone

Lorenzo qualified as a Certified Accountant (ACCA) in 1998 after graduating in Business Studies at Plymouth University. He trained at Rail Manche Finance and after finishing his ACCA exams joined the firm, Groupe Constantin.

Prior to joining Exceed in January 2017, he worked for ten years as tax and business advisor at an accountancy firm in Buckinghamshire specialising in the Pharmaceutical sector.

Lorenzo is married with three children, his interests include cycling, gardening and cooking.

Richard Emmett

Richard Emmett

Richard is a qualified chartered accountant (ACA). He trained with Thomson Mc Lintock (now KPMG) in London, he then left the profession to work in the fast growing international Information and Communication Technology start-up sectors, both within the UK, Middle East and Africa.

Richard has held a number of international executive positions within finance, Human Resources and general business management, latterly within a technology group of Mitsubishi Chemical. He has also worked in the profession with his own practice Excel Accounting, and then as partner at Bolton Colby and Director of Outsourcing with Menzies LLP.

Richard is married with three children, his interests include walking, painting, supporting Arsenal FC and beekeeping.

Jennifer Gibbons

Jennifer Gibbons

Jennifer is Exceed’s newest trainee having independently studied AAT qualifications, she has now switched her studies to ACA.

Jennifer attended Heathside School in Weybridge, before taking her first career step in a Financial Services organisation. After advancing through several roles she looked to specialise in accounting and joined Exceed.

Jennifer lives with her boyfriend, her interests include looking after her classic Volkswagen Beetle, as well as surf trips around the country.

Alex Underwood

Alex grew up and was educated in Hamburg, Germany, achieving her Accountancy qualification through the University of Hamburg.

Post-graduation, Alex worked for several start-ups as well as ‘Asea Brown Boveri’ before moving to the UK where she became the Accountant responsible for the German operations for Getty Images. In 2003 she moved to New Zealand where she worked for the biggest company in the country, Fletcher Building.

Her love of the UK, brought her & her family back in 2009. Alex is married and has two children. Her interests include travelling, cooking & spending time with family & friends.

Andre Vermeulen

Director of Exceed Best People

Andre was born in South Africa, and obtained his UK citizenship in 2005. Andre started his career in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), with a focus on application development. During his career, he headed up teams that developed the largest payroll system in South Africa, developed and implemented the VAT and PAYE applications for the South African Revenue Services.

Andre was appointed to the board of Q Data Limited, a company listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, where he was instrumental in expanding the company contracts with the South African Government. In 2000 he relocated to the UK to manage ailing Q Data subsidiary, which was turned around to a profitable business in the first year.

In 2010 he retired from Q Data and in 2011 started an ICT recruitment company, Exceed Best People limited, in partnership with Exceed CA Limited. Andre’s background and ICT experience enable him to differentiate Exceed Best People’s recruitment offering by providing a specialised and personal service to this industry.

Andre is married and has four children and seven grandchildren.

Yolande Van Staden

Yolande Van Staden

Yolandé grew up South Africa and moved over to the UK in 2004. She has more than 14 years’ experience in the Information and Communication Technology and Financial industry sectors. Her career in South Africa, started as a software developer with Business Connexion. During the past 10 years Yolande moved on from development to specialise in IT Procurement.

One of her many interests is Business Analysis & Risk Assessment and she has obtained various qualifications in these fields. Utilising her skills and past experience enables her to recruit candidates across a broad spectrum tailored to any business requirement.

Yolandé is married with two sons, her interests include fly fishing and cake decorating.
